Future of UK Patent Framework. This Westminster Policy Forum is taking place on February 2nd 2017, and will see the EPO's Dr Margot Fröhlinger, His Honour Judge Hacon and more senior speakers discuss the patent landscape and the UPC framework. [Merpel points out that by February we may have some murky inkling of what is going on. IPO gender and patent study. This recent study by the IPO suggests that the gender gap in worldwide patenting is substantial but also decreasing, with the proportion of female inventors seeing a 100% increase in the last 20 years. The overall proportion of patents involving a female inventor has increased by 500% since 1975. To read the full and fascinating global study for yourself, it can be found here.
