You read the topic right and we are repeating it again and sounding clearer; do not tether any of your current data from MTN, Airtel, Glo or Etisalat to any device!

And the reason is simple; if have been following us here, you will remember when we discussed http://littlebitjohnny.blogspot.com /2016/06/findings-data-tethering-is-culprit-to.html" target="_blank">data tethering as culprit to data zapping and that is just it.

If you love your data bundle very well and you don’t want to start telling people stories that touch the heart then guard your data jealously and do not attempt to tether to any device, whether it is to other phone, PC or tablet, just don’t tether and rather use all your data subscriptions directly on your phone or on modem.

Since MTN, Airtel, Glo and Etisalat recently revisited their data plans, data tethering of any kind has been serious culprit to data zapping, and the funniest thing now is that the data zapping while tethering have been tripled.

Our latest experience is not what we want you to fall into and let’s quickly share it here so you will understand the level of zapping that data tethering can cause you now if you venture into it.

Must Read: http://littlebitjohnny.blogspot.com /2016/06/mtn-500mb-for-n25-night-plan-now-zaps.html" target="_blank">MTN 500MB for N25 night data plan now zaps data and behaves erratically

We recently subscribed to MTN 1GB for N500 weekly data plan, to be precise,  2 days ago; and we were using it on the phone without any issue; and for the two days running that we have been constantly surfing around the net with it,  we have used 200MB out of the 1GB, leaving us with 800MB.

Today, we exhausted the other data plan on other SIM that we used solely on PC and we just decided to do little tethering from our phone to PC in order to complete the little work at hand.

We were aware that data tethering now zaps data but we decided to spend about 30minuites on the course of tethering to PC, believing that no matter how the zapping goes that at least we will still be left with up to 500MB since we are not downloading anything and that it is just for short period of time.

And then we used the PC to only surf around without any single form of download and even more so having deactivated all auto-update features on our system but to our greatest surprise, after 30min of surfing, we checked our data balance and we were left with only 10MB.

Immediately we knew that our data is gone and that MTN will never restore such data and that even if you complain to them, they will hinge it on data exhaustion due to usage.

It is important to note here that it is not only MTN, but other networks also have these current rates of data zapping when tethering.

A word is enough for the wise and he who has ear let him hear; do not tether your network data to any other device; use your data bundle subscriptions directly on your phone or on your PC with modem.
