S6 Won’t Charge
Problem: my phone won’t charge or the number will drop instead of going up the number goes down… i tried other chargers but it won’t work.. i don’t know what’s going on
Solution: When your phone does not charge despite using different chargers it’s time to look for other factors involved that is causing the problem. What you will want to do first is to try using a different charging cable. This cable gets easily broken especially if it is constantly bent or coiled and replacing it with a new one allows you to check if this is the case. You should also make sure that the charging port of your phone is free of any dirt or debris. Presence of such interferes with the charging process. If necessary clean the port using a can of compressed air. You should also simulate a battery pull by pressing the Power/Lock key and the Volume Down button for at least 20 seconds.
If the phone still refuses to charge then you need to check if this is caused by a glitch in the phone software by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is done you should immediately check if the phone will charge.
Finally, if the above troubleshooting steps fail I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center as this may be caused by some hardware problem possibly a faulty phone charging port or a weak battery.
S6 Does Not Charge
Problem: Phone was working fine until recently. The battery is dead and when I plug it it shows the large battery icon with the charge symbol, however that disappears and the phone does not charge. I have left it plugged in to see if it just needed time but nothing has worked. I cannot take the battery out of this phone. Chargers and port look ok. I tried the usb trick as well but same thing happened
Solution: Try to do a simulated battery pull first by pressing and holding the Power button and Volume down button for at least 20 seconds. Once this is done check if the phone charges. If it doesn’t charge then try using a different wall charger. Make sure to also use a different charging cable as this cable is usually the culprit in cases such as this.
Another thing that you should check is the phone charging port. If you spot any dirt or debris then clean it using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
Sometimes a reset will help resolve this problem. Before doing a factory reset make sure to backup your phone data as they will be deleted in the process.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Goes To Power Sharing Mode Then Stops Charging
Problem: When plugged in the device flicks after a short while to “power sharing mode” and stops charging. This is a ridiculously irritating issue to have, obviously. Just before it happened I was attempting to charge from a laptop with a non standard issue USB cable, and then this Samsung Gear VR screen was flickering on over and over. From then on I have had this issue. As a side effect I cannot transfer data to my phone.
Related Problem: My issue is that my battery runs low fast because of a power sharing pop up and it won’t charge correctly also an app called Samsung Vr pop ups …
Solution: When the phone is in power sharing mode it acts as a powerbank and charges the device connected to its port when the power sharing cable is used. While this is a good feature several owners of this phone are having issues with it.
The first thing to check is if this issue is caused by an app installed in your phone. Go to the application settings and disable any Gear VR apps that you could find as well as the Power Saver app. Once this is done check if your phone now charges. If it still does not charge then consider getting a new charging cord. This cord gets easily damaged and when it is damaged problems such as this can occur. You should also try to use a different wall charger to eliminate any charger related issues that could be causing this problem.
Another factor that can cause this problem is dirt or debris that is present in the phone charging port. If necessary, clean this port using a can of compressed air.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by the phone software.
If the issue still persists then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
S6 Stopped Charging
Problem: My phone has just stopped charging, I have tried 3 different leads in 3 different wall Sockets and even in a USB port but it won’t charge at all, I took it to the shop they plugged it in and it charged fine they charged it to 15% and sent me away but I’ve got home and it still won’t charge for me. It can’t be my charger though because I’ve tried 3 and they all work on my friends samsung so I don’t get how they got it to charge at the shop
Solution: Try using a different charging cord and make sure that the charging port of your phone is free of any dirt or debris. If necessary clean this port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
Since your phone charged at the shop then the only possible reason why your phone doesn’t charge at home is the charger being used. Try to check what type of charger they are using. If it is a fast charger ( has a higher Amperage rating) then the issue could be caused by a weak battery.
S6 Not Working After Charging
ProblemPlugged in to charge, the next day the screen was black and green notification light flashing. tried resetting by holding power button on its own, then power and volume down, then power and volume up. Still not working.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or a cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Once this is done charge your phone for 20 minutes using a different charging cable and different wall charger. After 20 minutes simultaneously press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least 20 seconds to simulate a battery pull. Check if your phone turns on.
If it doesn’t then try to check if you can access the recovery mode. If you are able to do so then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone. If this doesn’t resolve the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete all data stored in the phone so proceed at your own risk.
If you are unable to access the recovery mode or if the factory reset fails to resolve the issue then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Will Not Power Up
Problem: i got my phone and battery got down to 30% so started to charge went back to it and i’ve got a blue flashing LED and will not power up i’ve tried a few things but still nothing whats wrong its brand new i see a lot of ppl have had the same problem i’m monthly billing so is this a fault with the product thank
Solution: Try simulating a battery pull by simultaneously pressing and holding the power button and volume down button for at least 20 seconds. Once this is done clean the charging port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Next, charge your phone using a new charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes then check if your phone turns on.
If it doesn’t turn on then check if you can access the recovery mode of your phone. From here you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete all of your phone data.
If the problem persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
